Announcement on 23 October 2025.

Lord Ashcroft has donated state-of-the-art medical equipment worth US $135,000 (£100,836) to the Military Medical Clinical Centre of the Southern Region in Odesa, Ukraine.

The new equipment has been installed in the hospital’s surgical rooms and will be used to treat soldiers wounded in action across Ukraine’s southern front.

The Military Medical Clinical Centre serves as a key facility for the treatment of severely injured servicemen evacuated from Odesa, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The advanced technology supplied through Lord Ashcroft’s donation will significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity to perform complex operations and provide continuous cardiac monitoring – ultimately saving thousands of lives.

The donation includes a FT10 series energy platform with monopolar and bipolar footswitches, a Holter monitoring system and recorder, and a surgical lamp system with ceiling-mounted components.

Roman Kalchuk, Director of the Military Medical Clinical Centre of the Southern Region, said:

“We are deeply grateful to Lord Ashcroft for his support. The equipment we have received is now operational in our new surgical rooms and will be used daily to treat the most seriously wounded soldiers from across the southern flank. This contribution will help save thousands of Ukrainian lives.”

Lord Ashcroft said:

“As Ukraine endures through the fourth year of its courageous defence against Russia’s invasion, it is vital that we each do what we can to help. No single act is enough on its own -but if we all do our bit, together it will amount to a powerful collective effort. I am honoured to support the medical professionals who work tirelessly to save the lives of Ukraine’s defenders.”

This donation follows Lord Ashcroft’s ongoing humanitarian support for Ukraine, including major contributions to the Olena Zelenska Foundation and other healthcare projects aiding civilians across the country.
