For the past several years, The Ashcroft Foundation has granted fully funded scholarships to Belizean students under the age of 21 to complete a three-year degree programme in business studies at the Ashcroft International Business School at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) in the UK.

The third and fourth group of students to benefit from the scholarship have now completed their degrees.

The six successful students, Caryn-Ann Wilson, Christopher McGann, Melissa Ford, Leni Ysaguirre, Sergio Acosta, and Elmer Murray, have each been awarded a Bachelor of Arts business degree.

It is a condition of the scholarship programme that the students return to live and work in Belize for a period of at least five years after graduation.

To celebrate their success, a full graduation ceremony will be held at the Fort George Hotel’s Caracol Room on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 6:00 PM. The graduation ceremony is being hosted by Lord Michael Ashcroft KCMG, Chancellor of ARU, along with other senior colleagues from the University. Prime Minister Said Musa will be in attendance.
